About the Opportunity
This is not a traditional Sales Counselor position.
We're looking for a proven senior living sales leader who thrives in challenging environments, knows how to increase occupancy, and has a track record of closing sales while developing others to do the same.
As a Sales Specialist, you'll serve as a trusted partner to Executive Directors, Regional Directors of Sales, and Regional Directors of Operations, supporting communities experiencing occupancy challenges, leadership vacancies, or needing additional sales expertise. You'll be responsible for driving census growth through hands-on selling, implementing effective sales strategies, and delivering measurable occupancy results.
Beyond driving move-ins, you'll play a key role in coaching, mentoring, and developing community Sales Leaders, helping strengthen sales processes, improve conversion performance, and build lasting sales excellence across the region. This role requires someone who can lead through influence, quickly establish credibility, and inspire confidence with both prospective residents and community teams.
This is an ideal opportunity for a sales professional who enjoys making an immediate impact, developing future sales talent, and helping communities achieve sustained occupancy success.
If you're energized by turning around underperforming communities, building referral relationships, mentoring sales professionals, and consistently closing high-quality move-ins, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
Drive Occupancy Growth
- Own community census goals by executing a disciplined sales process that consistently converts leads into move-ins.
- Build urgency throughout the sales cycle while maintaining an exceptional customer experience.
- Conduct professional discovery conversations, presentations, and community tours that inspire confidence and lead to commitments.
- Meet or exceed monthly occupancy, inquiry conversion, and move-in goals.
Lead Through Influence
- Quickly integrate into assigned communities and become a trusted sales leader.
- Coach and mentor community leadership and sales teams on best practices, accountability, and sales execution.
- Collaborate with Executive Directors and Regional Leadership to develop community-specific census recovery strategies.
- Help establish daily sales discipline and create momentum within each community.
Build Business Development
- Develop relationships with physicians, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, case managers, and referral partners.
- Represent the community at networking events and outreach opportunities.
- Analyze local market trends and competitive positioning to strengthen community performance.
Manage the Sales Process
- Maintain accurate CRM documentation and forecasting.
- Conduct follow-up throughout the entire buying journey.
- Coordinate successful move-ins with community leadership.
- Ensure every prospect receives a high-touch, concierge-level experience.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of successful senior living sales experience in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care.
- Demonstrated history of consistently achieving occupancy and move-in goals.
- Strong closing skills with the ability to navigate complex family decision-making.
- Experience partnering with Executive Directors and operational leadership.
- Willingness to travel 70–90% throughout Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
Preferred
- Multi-community or regional sales support experience.
- Experience leading or mentoring other sales professionals.
- Strong business development and referral network experience.
- Experience improving occupancy in challenged communities.
